Sometimes you catch a good sunrise!!

At 6:30 we woke up from a good night sleep in a local hospital parking lot (no late night knocks).  Unfortunately it was too early to grab a coffee and we had maybe 25 minutes to find this view that we had heard about the night before from the Bar tender at the York Inn Tavern.  At 6:53 we turned onto the coastal road. There, perched atop a rugged island off the coast of York, Maine, the Cape Neddick Nubble Lighthouse was dead ahead of us, a timeless beacon that has been guiding ships through the treacherous waters since its construction in 1879. Fondly known as the "Nubble," this iconic structure captivates with its picturesque charm, framed by crashing waves and surrounded by a backdrop of serene coastal beauty. Its distinctive red-and-white tower, rising proudly against the Atlantic horizon, evokes a sense of maritime history and resilience. The lighthouse, automated since 1987, continues to serve as a vital navigational aid, its powerful beacon casting a guiding light over mariners and visitors alike. Accessible only by boat or from a distant viewpoint on the mainland, the Nubble lighthouse beckons adventurers and enthusiasts to marvel at its enduring allure, standing as a testament to the maritime heritage and scenic grandeur of New England's coastline.  If you're ever in York, ME when the timing is right, the skies are clear you gotta check this out!
